Third TEADE International  Contemporary Dance Choreographic Competition

                                             March  2025

 

During our 14th  WInter edition of TEADE 2025  International Dance Event, our organizing committee invites you to participate in the  Third TEADE International  Contemporary Dance Choreographic Competition for professional dancers, choreographers and students. TEADE ’s competition will take place  in person in a  Toronto venue. In this third edition, the contestants will compete in Contemporary Dance style that can be merged with other dance style.There will be two  Divisions:

 

  • PROFESSIONAL DIVISION – For Professional dancers & choreographers ( ages 18+) Competing as choreographers and/or dancers.

                                         

                                          

$1,000 CAD PRIZE  Outstanding  Choreography award + invitation to present the work in upcoming Danza Corpus Canada events.

 

  $300 CAD PRIZE Outstanding Performance Award + opportunity to work  in Danza Corpus Canada upcoming productions.

 

 

 

 

â–¡ STUDENT DIVISION – For Dance students (ages 13 +) Competing as choreographers and/or dancers.

                                              

                                          

$300 CAD PRIZE  Outstanding  Choreography  Award

 

***Outstanding  Performance  Award: A Gift Card for Dance Classes with Danza Corpus Canada’s instructors.

 

How to apply:    Submit the following to: teadecuba@gmail.com

 

Contestants must submit:

 

  1. Completed Winter TEADE 2024 Registration Form (below)

AND the following:

 

  1. A  example video of a choreography, work on process or the competition piece  of no more than 5 minutes in length of a solo, trio , quartet or sextet. The filming can be from home, dance studio or outdoors or can be a previous filmed work in a theatre setting.Send the video of the work via google drive link.

 

  1. Name and age of the Choreographer.

 

  1. Number of dancers.

 

  1. Note: Those dancers  who are  NOT competing as choreographers  and choose to compete for the  PERFORMANCE  award, have to register with the same fee listed above for each category.

 

  1. Synopsis of the work

 

  1. Duration of the work

 

  1. Music credit (if applicable)

 

Note: Participants  will also be able to perform representing  their country and company or school, with up to 2 works of no more than 5-7 minutes long  each to be performed at the opening or/ and closing gala. A video of the works to be performed  should be submitted with this application (can be a work in progress, rehearsal video or a show video)

FEES (All  Fees are in Canadian Dollars - non-refundable)

 

-Registration fee $40 CAD  ( students ) $10  CAD  ( professionals)

 

Full  week event FEE: 

​

* Students  $335  CAD -Special discount for group of  8 + students  $300 per dancer

 

*Professional dancers $260 CAD-Special discount for group of  8 + dancers  $200 per dancer

 

This full event Fee  includes:

 

Competition fee ,1 entry ( choreography) if dancers or students would like to compete with more than one entry, an extra $25  per entry will be required.

12 Dance Workshops

2 performances (opening and closing gala)   opportunity to represent country/ school/ company  and dance style.

Diploma of participation

 Extra ( optional )Trip to Niagara Falls Sunday,February 16th,2025  $100  CAD ( to be paid by July 15th , 2024

Drop in full day of classes are available.

 Registration $20 CAD ( students) 

Students $40- 1 entry ( $25 for extra entry)

Professionals $10-  1 entry ( $5 for extra entry)

Monday to Thursday  - March 24th-27th- 3 dance diverse dance workshops per day.

 Wednesday, March 26th- Rehearsal on Stage 8-10 pm

Friday,March 28th   -  Gala & Competition first run 8-10 pm 

Saturday, March 29th -  Closing Gala- Competition final and award ceremory 8-10 pm 

Sunday,March 30th- Trip to Niagara Falls  &  Farewell dinner (optional )
